A women-led movement in Sierra Leone
When mothers help decide, communities rise.
We organise so that women and mothers are not only counted in development, but also heard, trusted, and present when decisions are made.

Our programmes
Five connected areas of action.
Rooted in Bo District and shaped by the women who lead them.
Who we are
A grassroots circle that grew into a movement.
Founded in 1998 and registered with the Bo District Council and Sierra Leone's Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children's Affairs, CMMWPD - SL brings women together to advocate for their rights, support one another, and take part in the decisions that shape daily life.
Our mission is to support women's self-determination, self-actualization, and self-sufficiency — while protecting the human rights of women, youth, and children. In 2020 we partnered with Africademics to deepen our shared commitment to women's empowerment and education across Africa.

Our guiding belief
“The people closest to a problem are closest to its solution.”
